Hitting Out of Sand Traps

To play a successful long shot from a fairway sand trap you must pick the ball clean. This is accomplished by a strong lower body move, not by scooping with the hands.

Green side bunker shots are easy, easy, easy, when the ball sits up. Open the blade and retain one thought... pass the blade under the ball.

To extract the ball from an indented (fried egg) lie, open the blade and your stance even more.

To escape a buried lie, close the blade and close your stance. Drive the toe of the club into the sand. The ball will come out hot and roll a long way.

Don't worry if the ball is near the lip. Just open the blade and out it will pop. Lots of fun!
