The bodies of these new three metal heads are steel but the faces
are maraging steel. Maraging is much harder and smoother than
ordinary steel or titanium. Steel has a hardness range of 30-32 on
the HRC scale. Titanium is rated at 38-40. |
| Maraging steel's hardness rating is 49-51, almost 30% harder
than titanium and nearly twice as hard as in ordinary steel clubs. Maraging
heads have copper/tungsten inserts in the sole plate which results
in a lower center of gravity. |
