Tips Continued...

  1. Flex your knees in your starting position
  2. Point your chin to the right and keep it there until after impact. This  opens up your backswing and keeps you on an inside path on the downswing.  This move also causes the left side to be more dominant (for right handed players)(lefties - reverse the procedure.)
  3. Make certain the face of the club is square or even slightly closed. An  open face reduces distance, particularly on iron shots.
  4. Check your alignment. An overly closed stance blocks the release of your  lower body. An open stance shortens the backswing and alters the swing path  in a way not conducive to max distance.
  5. Use a short thumb grip. This means that the thumbs are above the crook of  the forefingers.
  6. Carry your hands low in the standing position. This will encourage your  flexing your knees plus other benefits.
  7. Tee the ball high when driving
