Adding Distance to Your Game

[Page 1] [Page 2]

Here are simple things you can do to maximize your distance with your present swing and equipment.

Here are the tips:

  1. Lighten grip pressure. The longer the shot, the lighter the pressure. Your grip pressure will automatically firm up at impact. The lighter grip pressure will increase the freedom of your swing.
  2. Let your jaw hang slack. Unclench those teeth.
  3. Drop you shoulders. Consciously relax all muscles from your jaw downward with particular emphasis on relaxing the muscles that connect your shoulders to your neck.
  4. Before taking your stance, inhale a long, deep, slow breath and then exhale slowly.
  5. Turn you left foot out about 20° toward the target.
