Bob Writes To Lee and Corey
Dear Lee and Corey,
My mate says that when I am not filming and therefore not watching my diet carefully,
I develop a bit of a Buddha belly. You guys are keeping trim, however you
are the Zen Buddhists of the tour. I am not referring to your religious affiliations
although that may be the source of your centeredness. It's a pleasure to
see you fellas' stay so calm and get so much out of your games.
Corey, I cringe a little when you swing because of
the unusual path , but I don't suggest you make any changes.
Lee, I love the
way you hit iron shots coming down the stretch in a tournament. However,
I do think that you have even
more potential than you are presently realizing. Your left hand grip
is very "palmy," I suggest that you experiment with a shorter
left thumb grip which will in turn move the butt of the club lower
in your palm. After you get accoustomed to the change your game will
move up to the next level.
Your right hand
grip is likewise a little "palmy." When
you change your left hand grip you will find it easy to move the
club down into the fingers of the right hand. This change will allow
your right hand to rest in a better position on top of your left
thumb and your hands will work more in unison.
Grip changes are not easy. However, if you will make
these changes during the off season, you will be a better player
next season.
Lee and Corey, it is a pleasure to see you putt. You
both personify my Automagic Putting Method. You are among the few
players on tour who properly balance your weight on both feet. This
allows your shoulders to turn freely under your chin when you putt.
Shortly I'll be updating my Newsletter here on the internet. The
feature article of Volume II will detail the art and science of putting.
Golfingly Yours,
Bob Mann
