Question from Louise: Putting Square

Dear Louise

I am publishing your letter because I want the world to know that you have a big mouth. If you're proud of it, so am I. Also, I'm happy to be getting more and more letters from female players.

The best way to keep the putter square is to use a very upright putter and make sure that the putter head is directly under your eyes. This will allow the putter head to move naturally back and forth squarely along the line. It is also advantageous to use a heavy headed putter(with or without a big mouth). A heavy headed putter requires less motion and encourages quiet hands during the putting stroke, this minimizes hand and wrist action during the putting stroke and encourages on-line putting.

Golfingly Yours,
Bob Mann
