Question from William: Swing Plane

Dear William:

The better the swing the more to the left in the stance is the lowest point of the swing plane. So the real question is not how to determine the lowest point but how to move it more to the left.

When Johnny Miller was at the peak of his game the bottom of his swing was well to the left of the ball, this meant that he struck the ball up near the equator with an iron and ultimately the club contacted the turf to the left of the ball position. This enabled him to impart enormous spin on the ball and in turn shoot for the flag even when it was tucked in remote positions.

To move the bottom or your swing plane to the left you should flex your knees in your starting position and practice my golf Motor Move as demonstrated on the Automatic Golf and the Let's Get Started Videos.

Golfingly Yours,
Bob Mann
