Question from Pierre: Backswing Pause

Dear Pierre:

The apparent pause in many good golf swings is an optical illusion. During the transition from the backswing to the downswing the lower body is in continuous motion, however the upper body may be momentarily motionless. Dr. Cary Middlecoff, a dominant player of the 1950s, had a wonderful swing that manifest this action very obviously.

The pause occurs without conscious effort. It can be incorporated in your swing by practicing my golf Motor Move drill which is described in detail in at least one prior answer to a golfer in this site and is demonstrated on my videos.

Golfingly Yours,
Bob Mann
