Question from Chuck: Moe Norman
Dear Chuck:
I love much about Moe Norman, including
much about his swing. Moe and I played a lot together in Florida
years ago. Moe's hands are very quiet through the contact zone and
the club extends down the line towards the object, as well or perhaps
better than anyone who ever played. (Pipeline Moe) however, one time
I did see him hit it very crooked.
We were playing the Par 5 18th at Tomoka
Oaks in Ormond Beach, FL. and the match was all even. Moe gave me
a half stroke on the Par 5's. Moe duck-hooked his drive into the
woods, I hit my drive 8 miles down the middle. Moe then threaded
the ball through 3500 big trees into a great position, a wedge away
from the hole.
I got so unnerved that I was happy to even
shank my second shot. Moe won the hole and match. Do I know Moe Norman.
Moe Norman and I had lunch together. (That's an inside joke.)
You live on Norman Rd. Is that symbolic?
