Question from John: Long Irons

I have a problem hitting my long irons (3,4,5). I struggle with both accuracy and distance. Additionaly, i hit my 3-wood poor off the tee and in the fairway. If I just use my driver and short irons (7 Iron-SW). I play in the mid to high 80's. If i need to use any of the other clubs, they are normally more of a penalty than an asset. Help?

In golf it's "Whatever works works!" Lots of folks can't hit long irons. However, im mystified that you can hit driver but not a 3 wood. Are you sure they match? You might get a 5 and 7 wood that you can hit to replace long irons.
