Question from Micheal: Lobbing

Dear Bob:

How do you make a sand-wedge stop after lobbing over a bunker off hard pan? Can you?

Dear Michael:

It depends on how hard the hard-pan is. If it is wet enough that you can play the shot as you  would a sand shot... Go for it. However, This is not a good percentage shot.

The best plan is to figure out how to get down in 3. Can you run the ball through the trap? Can  you play around the trap and 2 putt? Do you have to opportunity to pick up the ball and throw it on the green when your buddies are not looking?

Golfingly Yours,
Bob Mann
