Question from Wayne & Diana:
Wood Vs. Iron Stroke
Dear Bob: (From
Wayne)
Do
you have a problem with "little
women"?
Are you a red neck that thinks women don't deserve to play golf?
My wife is an excellent golfer, and asked a question of you about two
weeks ago and has not yet gotten an answer.
I notice you answer questions with mens names, well I'm a man
answer mine!
Dear Bob: (From Dianna)
Is there a major difference between swinging a wood and an iron? My
husband says the swings are the same, but I am having a lot of
trouble changing from one to the other. I have a very good swing
with a wood with good distance, but no distance with an iron.
Dear Dianna & Wayne:
When I hear about
significant variation in the results within a golfers set I suggest
having a qualified
person check and compare shaft flex & swing weights to determine
how well matched the clubs are.
If not matched, get clubs to match those
you hit best.
Usually when the set is matched and a golfer
is having difficulty with a group of clubs, the troublesome clubs
are the driver or long irons. That is usually a technique issue.
In your case, my guess is that your clubs don't match.
P.S. To Wayne.
I get more questions than I could answer even if I made a career
out of it, so I try to pick
those that are different from those previously answered. No prejudice.
I would love to have more questions from female & junior players.
Golfingly Yours,
Bob Mann
