Question from Stephen: Left Elbow

Dear Bob:

I have a 3 part question:

1. Should the left elbow ever bend, or should it be locked in place? 2. What about the wrists? Should these be locked in place as well? 3. Feet position, left foot pointed out a bit, ball a few inches on the inside of the left heel. WHat about the right foot? Further forward than the left, back, right?.

Dear Stephen:

Left elbow can bend a modest amount, definitely do not think about locking your elbows. Wrists flex during swing in response to the motion of the body. Do not think about locking or coking . Yes, left foot turned out a bit and ball position just inside left heel. Right foot perpendicular to line of flight or very slightly turned out with longer clubs.
