Question from Joe: Right Elbow

Dear Joe:

The only time that it's important to keep your right elbow tucked against your side is if you're carrying your wallet under your right arm.

When Jack Nicklaus was at his prime, his right elbow moved considerably away from his body. An attempt to keep your right elbow tucked against your side will inhibit your natural motion and cut your distance by making the path of the club head steeper on the backswing than it should be.

This, like most other midswing thoughts are counter-productive. View the Automatic Golf videos to learn the proper pre-swing procedure, and let your elbow go where it may.

Golfingly Yours,
Bob Mann
