Question from William: Coaching
Dear William:
The first fundamental anybody should be
taught is the grip. The proper grip has certain characteristics that
are thoroughly demonstrated on my Automatic Golf videos. Many high
school and college coaches use my videos as a teaching tool, paid
for by the school. If you think this is a good idea for you, call
1-800-LUV-GOLF and order.
After the proper grip is mastered you should
have your students practice getting the club in motion, employing
the large muscles of the lower body as demonstrated on the videos.
Nothing is more pointless or less productive
than showing the students positions for the club and their body during
the swing.
The golf swing is about motion not positions.
Motion is fun. Positions are boring. Motion creates dynamic energy
and knocks the hell out of the golf ball. Positions are pointless
and usually analyzed incorrectly anyway.
In synopsis. Teach a proper grip then let
the students get the club in motion through the proper utilization
of their hips and legs.
Golfingly Yours,
Bob Mann
