Question from Gordon: Club Length
Dear Gordon:
Not if your technique is correct. We build 90% of our clubs
overlength. I feel that our competitors made a mistake 2-3 years ago
(and are still doing so) by failing to engineer to take advantage of
the new lighter shafts. Instead to maintain swing weight, they raised
the head weight. What a waste. By keeping the head weight down we are
able to lengthen without increasing swing weight.
The secret of
maintaining accuracy with longer clubs is making certain that your
hands are very close to your body in your
starting position. This encourages a linear path for your hands and
clubhead, which in turn increases accuracy. Most Golfers stand too
far from the ball which causes the hands & club to swing around
the body. Longer clubs, in that case, would magnify error. With proper
technique long clubs work great.
Golfingly Yours,
Bob Mann
